Patti Smith and My Core Series

"The artist seeks contact with his intuitive sense of the gods, but in order to create his work,he cannot stay in this seductive and incorporeal realm. He must return to the material world in order to do his work. It's the artist's responsibility to balance mystical communication and the labor of creation."

Shelter from the Storm

Well, I'm livin' in a foreign country but I'm bound to cross the line
Beauty walks a razor's edge, someday I'll make it mine
If I could only turn back the clock to when God and her were born
Come in, she said
I'll give ya shelter from the storm

Burlington, VT (Friday, September 23, 2016): Now entering its fourth year, Of Land and Local: Watershed continues its commitment to the creation of new work through site-specific and place-based art making as well as community programming that encourages critical dialogue. As an ongoing partnership between Shelburne Farms and Burlington City Arts, Of Land and Local: Watershed combines the missions of both organizations and supports artist led conversations about social, ethical, and political issues impacting the Vermont landscape, culminating in exhibitions at both locations.

Frog Hollow has selected Casey’s Work!

Casey Blanchard’s in!  She’ll now have a year-round presence at the Frog Hollow Gallery on Church Street in Burlington, Vermont. Casey appreciates all who played a part in the final decision. Currently you will find framed works of Casey’s Stane Hadden series, Pies World and Fall Day. Casey has also made available a variety of originals, unframed that fit any 8x10 frame - these make thoughtful gifts for the holiday, all Vermont-made and local! Also available are Casey’s card sets of her botanical works and coffee-themed prints, ideal for stocking stuffers, swap gifts or even hostess gifts. Casey is pleased to be a part of the downtown artist community of Frog Hollow.  If you like what you see at Frog Hollow, and want to see more, come by the studio (call ahead!) for the full Casey Blanchard experience. http://froghollow.org
